It's May 5th. Really??? Gah... I don't know where the year went. It went by so quickly, yet has been filled with so much. As I am currently alone in my empty dorm room living out my last week on campus, it seems only right to get a little bit touchy-feely and a little bit reflective. Let's start with the Roomie- She seems to lurk in most of my memories of this year---
Here we are- Begining to End- High School Freshman to College Freshman
Both of these were taken on the last day of our freshman years. This Girl...This Girl.. She doesn't know the impact that she's had on me. She's that person that's head is poked into every one of your milestone pictures- that one person sneaking in putting up bunny ears (or in her case, the middle finger), while you smile onward. That is my best friend.
Thinking back to when we met in the 4th grade- We were probably only friends because she had rad hair braids and a mom that let us get away with more than mine did. Yet I found myself stuck in a college dorm room with her and her John Deer sheets. I couldn't have asked for anyone better- she keeps my world a-rockin' and my feet firmly planted. I've learned so much from her and shared so much happiness with her this year. There truely isn't a better bestie out there.
Our very first football game. And our very first black friend.
And in November I flew for the very first time ever. By myself. Across the country. Without my parents knowing. Yes, I do realize I am a badass. It was definatley one of the wildest experience of my life. For the weekend I took off to LA with 100$ in my purse, a camera, and my carry-on. I got to ride in my first taxi, on my first sub-way, and walk the walk of fame- I can't wait to do it all again.
My roomie on her 19th birthday- which was celebrated thoroughly. We don't mess around when it comes to birthdays. Especially when they coincide with a thursday and Blind Duck festivities.
The best snow man I have ever made ever. Erica and I share a love for pretty little liars and all things fruity. Both of which were celebrated on Tuesdays. I've had so much fun with her this year- and now she's bought a house and is getting married and is ditching me to be a grown-up! She has definatly made freshman year a ton of fun though. It's so nice to find someone so much like you when you move to a town of strangers. I remember the first time we met, she was dressed as a zombie bride for halloween. When I got home I had to look her up on facebook to see what she really looked like, because I really had no idea at all- behind the plastic gashes and make-up blood. Goodness time flys.
These things happen.
Some of this year's greatest memories have happened at this house, definatley the funnest fellers on campus.
And you just can't leave out dollar bowling night in Paragold. Obviously this picture shows that we take bowling as serious business. We play hard, we bet hard, and sometimes the ol' hanes get put on a car anntenae in the parking lot.
There have been oh so many other good times and pictures this year. I don't have a doubt that many of my life's sweetest memories will come from my freshman life. One down, three more to go! Whoo!- Sophomore :)
