I doubt that the imagination can be suppressed.
If you truly eradicated it in a child,
he would grow up to be an eggplant.

Ursula K. Le Guin

Black. Friday.

Look not mournfully into the past.
It comes not back again.
Wisely improve the present.
 It is thine.
Go forth to meet the shadowy future, without fear.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

YOUth.

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
and though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love, but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward, nor tarries with yesterday.
--Kahlil Gibran

Stolen*Kisses

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge -- myth is more potent than history -- dreams are more powerful than facts -- hope always triumphs over experience -- laughter is the cure for grief -- love is stronger than death.

-- Robert Fulghum

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon-instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

LostandFound

There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Green Life

As I was laying under this tree in my backyard this evening, camera in-hand, I couldn't help but marvel at its size. This picture may be a tad bit misleading but I would have to guess that this tree stands a good 60 ft in the sky. Under its branches I dozed off thinking about the stories a tree could tell, if it had ears and eyes- stories of love and loss, war and celebration, youth and age. Trees hold the names of lovers in knife-etched hearts, they twinkle yearly with lights and ornaments- hiding much anticipated presents, they cover family picnics and games of hide and seek, they tower over our houses and silently watch. They must gather thousands of memories in the time it takes them to grow to that 60 feet. If only they had a brain- As a Scare Crow once said.
Not a lot of thoughts on this picture- just a nice summer evening.

Carnival

There is just something about a Ferris-wheel that slows down the pace of life. Maybe its the breeze that reaches you as you approach the top of the wheel. Maybe its the feeling of being on top of something big. Maybe its simply knowing that this night with loved ones will be a permanently stamped memory. Don't forget to slow down and make a memory today, there are too few days to leave one forgotten.
